The leadership of the Movement for the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Biafra Independent Movement (BIM), Ebonyi Central zone in Ebonyi State, on Monday cautioned its members across the state to shun violence or any other act which is capable of portraying the group in a bad light during its independence celebration today (Tuesday) in the state.
Briefing Journalists at MASSOB/BIM’s zonal headquarters, Onueke in Ezza South local government area of the state, the leader of Ebonyi Central zone, Hon. Sylvester Ufeh who called on members to come out en-masse for the group’s Independence Celebration stressed that the sit-at-home order of MASSOB belonged to Ojukwu’s old Biafra as MASSOB/BIM belongs to the new Biafra which was declared by its leader, Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike, on 22nd May in Abia State.
According to him, our celebration remains sacrosanct and irreversible as members and non-members are welcome to celebrate with us on this auspicious occasion.
“The entire Ebonyi central zone of the group and indeed the state is hereby called up to come out en-masse on 22nd May 2018 for the celebration of our Independence in a colourful way under our non-violence posture or policy.
“We want to express our gratitude to our indefatigable, courageous and gallant leader and founder of MASSOB/BIM, Dr. Ralph Uwazurike, the lion of Africa, the Joshua of our time for passing through turbulent waters to emancipate the totality of Biafrans from the darkness called Nigeria.
“He paid the ultimate price for our freedom. In the course of the celebration, there shall be a match past, and cultural dance in the state; both members and non-members are all welcome to celebrate our independence. They should not forget to comport yourself according to
our non-violence norms. We are a non-violent group and we will remain as such.
“Any person or group talking about sit-at-home order during the celebration belonged to Ojukwu’s old Biafra as MASSOB/BIM belongs to the new Biafra which was declared at 175 Folk Road by our leader, Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike, on 22nd May in Abia State.”
