Killer Fulani herdsmen lay ambush in Enugu community, spill innocent blood

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed an indigene of Ibagwa Ezimo in Udenu local Government Area of Enugu State, according to a report from the area.

“The victim, identified as Theophilus Eleje walked into the herdsmen, who were said to have laid ambush along the road,” says a report this morning in LEADERSHIP.

Confirming the incident, the spokesman of the police in Enugu State, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, said the herdsmen operated as armed robbers.

The paper quotes Amaraizu as saying: “The suspected Fulani robbers gave matchet cuts on the head of their victim, identified as one Theophilus Eneje as he ran into them. They emerged from the bush.”

The police spokesman disclosed that the victim later died owing to the machete cuts he received, assuring that “a manhunt has been intensified in order to arrest the suspects.”
