The Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL) has joined in condemnation of the bomb attack on the country home of the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nnia Nwodo. The dastardly was perpetrated act on Sunday by unknown persons, who threw an explosive device at Nwodo’s compound, leaving part of his house damaged.
National Leader of BNYL, Princewill Richard, said that those behind the attack are enemies within the South East.
“Although, we are still waiting for the group of people or new terrorist originating in the East to come out bold and claim responsibility, because I cannot understand why someone will strike and do not want to send message across as to why he or she is provoked,” Richard said in a statement issued on Monday.
The BNYL Leader charged the people of the South East not to point accusing fingers at people outside the region. “I wouldn’t want to say the internal crises in Ohanaeze led to this action, but those behind this wicked act are enemies within. It is unfortunate but we don’t know reasons behind their action,” he said.
Richard explained that even though BNYL does not support Ohanaeze’s approach in pursuing the cause of the Igbos, the group is against violence and wants those involved to be fished out and punished.
