The Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), a Civil Society organization devoted to reporting and monitoring Hajj and Umrah activities in Nigeria and in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is set to present its online news medium, www.hajjreporters.com, to the public.

A statement Wednesday, jointly signed by Muhammad Ibrahim, IHR National Coordinator, and Muhammad Garba, Secretary of the presentation Organising Committee, said IHR will also hold its maiden award night during the website presentation.

IHR is a registered organisation comprising Muslim journalists who seek to enlighten Nigerian pilgrims and stakeholders on how to perform this important pillar of Islam.

The organisation also works with Hajj regulatory agencies, Service Providers and State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards or Agencies to achieve smooth Hajj operations every year.

The statement said the news portal, which has been operating for over a year now, “is the only one of its type globally that is dedicated to the full coverage of Hajj (pilgrimage) and Islamic matters only.

“It is run by core media professionals and provides real time multi-media news items.”

IHR said the event slated for April 29, 2018, in Abuja will attract Hajj and Islamic stakeholders within and outside Nigeria.

The organisation, which was registered in 2013, has been in the forefront of reporting and monitoring hajj activities in the country.

According to the statement, those to be honoured at the event include personalities who have contributed in laying solid foundation for Hajj administration in the country.

As part of its broad objectives of enlightening, educating and disseminating credible information about Hajj and Umrah to Nigerians, IHR is also publishing Hajj Reporters Magazine.

It added that, other categories of award are institutions that have supported Hajj activities, the best states pilgrim’s welfare boards in terms of pilgrims enlightenment and education, Makkah accommodation, most disciplined state pilgrims, the most service oriented tour operator, the best air carrier and the best pilgrims excess cargo carrier.
