The House of Representatives has unanimously passed a vote of no confidence on the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and the Minister of State, Mr. Abubakar Bawa-Bwari.

This followed the absence of the ministers at a sectoral debate on the steel sector which was scheduled to hold today (Thursday) in the National Assembly.

The debate was designed to find a lasting solution to the troubled Ajaokuta Steel Plant in Kogi State.

The motion for the ‘no confidence’ vote was moved during plenary by the Leader of the House, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila and was enthusiastically supported by other lawmakers.
