The Kaduna State factional All Progressives Party (APC) on Sunday slammed a six months suspension on the State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.
The faction, led by Shuiabu Inuwa Wada, is said to be recognised by the party’s national body in Abuja.
The factional chairman had on Thursday issued a query to the governor and slammed an 18-month suspension on his political adviser, Uba Sani.
Others it sanctioned are the state Commissioner for Finance, Suleiman Abdu Kwari, and Yahaya Bab Pate, the Acting State Secretary of the party. They were hammered for activities the faction described as “inimical to the interest of the chapter.”
The factional chairman, at a press conference on at the newly relocated secretariat at 11b Sambo Road on Sunday, said: “Governor Nasiru El-rufai stands suspended for a period of six months with effect from 17th February, 2018.”
He explained that “the Governor earned the suspension due to his anti-people, anti party activities and inhuman policies and refusal to respond to the query issued to him within 48 hour period that has elapsed on Saturday.”
When asked if the national leadership of the APC recognises the relocation of the state secretariat to 11b, Sambo Road, Ungwan Rimi GRA, from its location on Ali Akilu Road near Lugard Hall round-about, Mr. Wada responded: “Since the person speaking (Mr. Wada) is the one recognised by the national leadership as the authentic leader, by so doing it means that this office has been recognised.”
He said his faction recognised and welcomed the appointment of APC leader Bola Tinubu’s reconciliation committee, adding: “We will support them (Tinubu’s committee) in the assignment to reconcile warring groups.
“This is democracy. It is a give and take issue, therefore reconciliation is very necessary.”
Calls and text messages immediately placed to Samuel Aruwan, Media Assistant to the Governor, were not responded to.
The Governor, had earlier in his response to the query issued to him by the faction described it as a “sham and laughable”.
