At least one person has been allegedly killed and about four reportedly injured over a family land dispute at Umuche village, Nkwelle-Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State.

Two others were also arrested over the land dispute, which has lingered for some months now.

According to sources, the dispute took an ugly dimension on Friday when brothers took to arms to settle the issue once and for all.

Our reporter gathered that the services of mercenaries were allegedly employed and, in the ensuing fight, four people sustained injuries from gunshot wound and machete.

When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of 3-3 police station, Mrs. Jane Mbanefo, who was at the battle field, confirmed that two persons were arrested with arms.

On the alleged death of one person, the DPO said investigation was still ongoing to know the true position of the crisis.
