The Nigeria Prisons Service (NPS) has promoted 174 officers of the Bauchi Command.

The newly promoted officers were decorated with their new ranks by the Controller of Prisons, Bauchi State Command, CP Suleiman T. Suleiman, who urged them to consider their promotion as a call to duty and reciprocate the good gesture by working assiduously towards safe custody and reformation of inmates.

The Controller of Prisons said the promotion “is part of efforts of the Prisons administration under the able leadership of Alhaji Ja’afaru Ahmed (CGPs) to motivate officers and men of the Service for effective service delivery.”

He noted that out of the 174 officers and men promoted, 3 were promoted to the rank of Assistant Controller of Prisons (ACP), 2 Chief Superintendent of Prisons CSPs, 3 Superintendents of Prisons (SOPs) and 8 Deputy Superintendent of Prisons (DSPs). Others include 77 Non-Commissioned Officers, 52 Inspectors of Prisons elevated to the rank of Senior Inspectors of Prisons (SIPs) as well as 81 officers from the rank and file.

In their goodwill messages to the newly promoted officers, security chiefs from sister agencies in the state implored them to live above board and discharge their duties with due diligence and professionalism.
