First private medical university in Nigeria invites qualified candidates for screening and admission

PAMO University of Medical Sciences (PUMS), Port Harcourt Rivers State, has invited suitably-qualified candidates for screening and admission.

News Express had on January 21, 2018 broken the news that PAMO had commenced undergraduate admission for its first batch of applicants for the 2017/2018 academic year.

The university, which was recently licensed by the Federal Government, is the first full-fledged private Medical University in the country. The take-off faculties are: Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences and Faculty of Clinical Sciences.

Admission into undergraduate degree programmes is being offered in the two faculties. The programmes include B.Sc. Anatomy, B.Sc. Biochemistry, B.Sc. Human Nutrition & Dietetics, B.Sc. Pharmacology and B.Sc. Physiology for Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences as well as Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery – MBBS, for the Faculty of Clinical Sciences.

A statement by the Registrar of the Institution, Barrister W.U.G. Imoedemhe, says applicants are expected to have five credit passes at SSCE (or equivalent) in relevant subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language and Mathematics), at not more than two sittings and, must have scored 200 and above in the 2017/2018 UTME in relevant subjects.

Interested applicants who have applied to JAMB for admission and wish to change their first choice to PUMS are required to apply for Change of Institution through JAMB and then apply online at www.pums.edu.ng to participate in the Screening/Clearance exercise.

Applicants are to come with downloaded completed form, original and copies of qualifying certificates, UTME result, birth certificate and two passport photographs for the Screening/Clearance exercise on any of the scheduled dates:

Tues. 30th and Wed 31st January, 2018

Tues. 6th and Wed. 7th February, 2018

Time: 10.00 am daily

Venue: University Auditorium, No. 1, Tap Road, Elelenwo, off Aba   Expressway, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
