American, Canadian kidnapped in Kaduna, 2 police escorts killed

Two expatriates – an American and a Canadian – have been kidnapped.

Mukhtar Aliyu, Spokesman of Kaduna Police Command, while confirming the incident to our reporter on Wednesday, said two police escorts attached to the expatriates were also killed in a gun battle to save the expatriates.

The incident occurred along around Kagarko, along Kaduna – Abuja road on Tuesday night.

“An American and a Canadian were ambushed by unknown gunmen around Kagarko on their way from Kaduna to Abuja around 8:00pm on Tuesday.

“The two police escorts attached to them engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gun battle, which resulted to the unfortunate death of the two police officers,” Aliyu said.

Though he did not give details of the expatriates mission in Nigeria, but said the anti kidnap unit and other special units are on their trail.
