The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted moderate dust haze condition with visibility range of 2 – 5km over the central states of the county on Tuesday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Monday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 24℃ – 34℃ and 10 – 19℃ respectively.

The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience sunny and hazy conditions over the inland cities with early morning mist/fog over coastal cities with prospect of localised showers over Ijebu-Ode, Lagos, Yenagoa and environs.

It also predicted chances of partly cloudy conditions over the Southeast coast during the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures in the range of 32℃ – 38℃ and 16℃ – 22℃ respectively.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience thick dust haze conditions in reduced horizontal visibility throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 26℃ – 30℃ and 10℃ – 19℃ respectively.

“Thick dust haze conditions are probable over some parts of the Northern cities, Moderate dust is expected over the central states while sunny and hazy conditions will be experienced over the inland.

“However, rain showers are likely over southwest coast with chances of few clouds over the southeast coast within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
