President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday summoned the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja over the recent killings in Benue State.
Addressing State House correspondents after a closed-door meeting with the president, the police helmsman described the attacks as communal.
Idris said the Force was neither overwhelmed nor understaffed.
He said he had assured Governor Sam Ortom that measures would be put in place to improve the security situation in Benue State.
The police chief also assured that the country was secured. (Daily Trust)
