Dust haze, reduced visibility to dominate weather: NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for Wednesday, January 3, 2018:

NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze conditions with visibility range of 1 – 3km is anticipated while visibility of 1,000m or less is expected over Katsina, Dutse, Kano and Sokoto throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 26 – 34℃ and 10 – 17℃respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Thick dust haze condition is expected over the region throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 31 – 34℃ and 14 – 21℃ respectively, except over Jos where 26℃ /11℃ day and night temperatures are expected.

SOUTHERN STATES: Dust haze conditions are anticipated over the inland and coastal cities with visibility range of 1 – 3km. Localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000m should prevail in some cities during the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 33 – 34℃ and 16 – 22℃ respectively.
