Rain showers likely today in some parts of the country: NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Sunday, December 24, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Dust haze conditions are expected over the extreme north with visibility range of 2-5km and localised visibility range of less than or equal to 1,000m throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 34 – 39℃ and 14 – 20℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Dust haze conditions are expected over the northern parts of this region with visibility range of 2 – 5km, while partly cloudy to hazy conditions are anticipated over the southern parts throughout the forecast period. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 35 – 39℃ and 18 – 26℃ respectively, except over Jos where 30℃ /18oC day and night temperatures are expected.

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudy conditions are anticipated over some parts this region; there are chances of localised rain showers over Calabar and Eket during the morning hours. Localised thunderstorms are much likely over Akure, Port Harcourt, Eket, Calabar, Ijebu- Ode, Asaba, Umuahia, Enugu, Benin, Abakaliki and its environs during the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 35℃ and 23 – 25℃ respectively.
