Prophet Francis Onwudiwe Otukwu, General Supervisor of ThankGod Awaited Liberation Ministry, Ikeja, Lagos, is worried by the degrading socio-economic and spiritual atmosphere of the country, especially the widespread ritual killings and other vices which he believes are unbefitting of a Christian nation such as Nigeria. “Fear God, humans!” he exclaimed.

“This shameful reign of evil goes further to confirm the unfortunate fact that, Nigerians don’t fear God, lest worship him in spirit and truth, despite their loud religious confessions, celebrations and overwhelming presence of churches and mosques in all nooks and crannies of the country.”

Prophet Otukwu stated this during the ministry’s Annual Thanksgiving Service last Sunday, at the Adekoya Street, Ogba, worship centre; which featured word ministration by the General Supervisor, while the Kingdom Voices, led by budding Gospel Singer, Cheta Donatus, led in songspiration, which took a better chunk of the service.

He wondered how church leaders feel no compunction in making altar calls for billions and millions of naira from the faithful, at a time the economy is in deep recession with its attendant hardship and unprecedented level of unemployment; a time when Nigerians youth are sold as slaves in neighbouring countries due to suffering in the land, which he affirmed is the cumulative impact of nearly two decades of unbridled corruption and looting of treasury by public office-holders, civil servants and political contractors.

He charged members to appreciate God for sustenance and covering, despite the unflattering state of the economy, even as he prophesied the New Year maybe equally tough, but assured them that God will surely provide for his people who are loyal to the World of justice.

Reading from second Corinthians chapter 9 and Isaiah 56, Prophet Otukwu noted that whereas God hates stinginess and murmuring, while he loves a cheerful giver, “Those whom God will bless are believers who worship him in spirit and truth and obey his commands; not the corrupt who steal public funds and so-called business men/women with blood-stained hands. No! God cannot be mocked or bribed. Whatever any one sews, he will reap.”

Citing the assurances of one Prof Fagbohun of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, that with modern science, a woman of 60 can still conceive and deliver, Otukwu stressed that such secular convictions confirm what obtains in the Kingdom where the presence of God manifests regularly in miraculous healings and liberation from all forms of bondage, without night vigils and rigours of expensive village and family deliverances.
