Militants strike in Cross River; kill 2

Militants have killed two persons suspected to be bunkerers at Jebs area of Anantigha community in Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The militants came out of the creek and shot at some residential buildings where some bunkerers were staying.

“Two persons that I know very well were shot dead. The militants opened fire right from a gunboat,” a resident said.

He stated that the residential buildings were located along Bassey Effiom Street by Jebs Street.

Public Relations Officer of the 13 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Calabar, Captain Kayode Owolabi, said they got information of militants shooting in the area and immediately deployed men to repel them. (Silverbird TV)
