The Rivers State Waste Management Agency has announced that the restriction of movement order earlier made on Saturday's monthly sanitation exercise has been relaxed.
The Agency, in a statement issued by its Sole Administrator, Felix Obuah, said the lifting of the restriction of movement order would not affect the conduct of the exercise as residents of the state are expected to participate in it by keeping their surroundings clean during the period from 7am – 10am.
The RIWAMA sole administrator explained that the call off of the restriction order on human and vehicular movements, which supersedes the earlier announcement, became necessary following an important
event taking place in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, today, Saturday, November 25, 2017.
He, however, called on all residents of Port Harcourt and its environs, as well as all those living in the 23 local government areas to participate actively in the sanitation exercise and to always ensure their environment is kept clean and healthy and to dispose generated wastes at the approved receptacles within the stipulated time.
