Activist petitions Imo Police boss over illegal detention

An Owerri-based social crusader, Citizen Ikenna Samuelson Iwuoha, has petitioned the Commissioner of Police, Imo State Command, Mr. Chris Okey Ezike, over an alleged unlawful detention of a citizen and high-handedness by a Superintendent of Police attached to the Shell Camp Police Station in Owerri, whose name was given as Okoroafor.

According to the activist, the case at hand happened at the Shell Camp Police Station where the said Supol Okoroafor was said to have detained a lady, Chinma Nwosu, following a transaction between her and another person over remittance of proceed from a tricycle business.

Iwuoha said he had also alerted the Imo State Government “on the injustice and gross intimidation against an innocent lady by Police Officers at Shell Camp Police Station led by Supol Okoroafor.”

He added in a statement: “Inasmuch as the Police Commissioner will take action on the matter, I have decided to make it public, so as to expose the continued foolishness, stupidity, wickedness and indeed criminalities of Police Officers who are making things difficult for CP Chris Okey Ezike.

“Why must Supol Okoroafor detain Chinma Nwosu? Why is he demanding that the Keke- Tricycle be brought to the Station? What is his interest?”
