Kaduna State Commissioner for Education, Professor Andrew Nok, is dead.

Officials said he died in the early hour of Tuesday, after a protracted illness.

“He took ill this morning and was rushed to a private hospital where he died around 6am today.

“His corpse has been deposited at Barau Dikko Specialist Hospital, as we prepare for his burial at a date that will be announced later,” a family source said.

Mourners were seen trooping into the late commissioner’s residence at Barnawa High Cost for condolences.

Governor Nasir el-Rufai; Commissioner for Health, Paul Dogo; former Head of Service, Habila Dogo, and many top government officials were sighted at the residence.

Late Nok was the Commissioner of Health before his redeployment to Education.
