Enugu State House of Assembly (ESHA), Tuesday, commended Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Enugu State Independent National Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) for conducting a peaceful local government election last Saturday at which PDP candidates emerged victorious in both the chairmanship and councillorship positions.

Speaker of the House, Hon. Edward Ubosi, who made the commendation on behalf of his colleagues on the floor of the House at a plenary, said that the outcome of the polls had shown that PDP was still in control in the state.

Ubosi said that the election was hitch-free and has shown clearly that Enugu State is a PDP.

Leader of the House, Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu, also commended the conduct and the outcome of the election said that PDP campaigned well and deserved to win.

“We campaigned well and it was obvious that we would win. I congratulate ENSIEC for doing a good job,” Ezeugwu said.

Member representing Aninri. Constituency, Hon. Matthias Ekweremadu, while commending his party and ENSIEC, said the way people turned out for the polls was a proof that the people were part and parcel of democracy.

Commending PDP for the landslide victory Ekweremadu said that PDP worked hard to win.  “The party worked for it. If you don’t work hard, you don’t expect to win,” he said.
