Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has expressed sympathy with victims of yesterday's unfortunate fire incident at the popular ’Yan Katako Market in Sabon Gari area of Zaria.
A statement by the Director General Media and Publicity, Ahmed Maiyaki, said the governor expressed sadness over the inferno which raised several shops and affected many traders at the market.
Yero said: “This unfortunate fire incident is a setback not only to the traders that have lost their belongings, but also to the Government and entire people of Kaduna State, because it has affected all of us.”
The governor however called on the victims of the fire disaster to remain faithful to God Almighty, who is the sole provider. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all those that were directly affected by the disaster and may God replenish all that they have lost,” he added.
The governor ordered full investigation into the cause of the fire outbreak while promising that the State Government would do all within its powers to provide assistance to the affected traders.
He called on all citizens of the state to embrace proactive measures in disaster management as he called on them to remain peaceful and law abiding at all times.
