The People Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State has pegged nomination form for Local Government Chairmanship aspirants at N1million.

Aspirants for Councillorship seats are to obtain nomination forms at a cost of N200, 000. However, as a means of encouraging women participation, female aspirants will obtain the forms at no costs.

Chairman of the party in the state, Barr. Kingsley Esiso, stated this while briefing Journalists in Asaba on the Local Government election coming up on January 6, 2018.

According to him, women need to be part of the game and at least three in each Local Government for councillorship position.

“We advised every ward to do that and avoid much spending from aspirants,” he said, adding that the party had already made internal arrangements to reduce the number of aspirants through consensus or mock primaries at the ward and council levels.

Esiso stated that there will be no imposition of candidates. Mock primaries and consensus arrangement are geared towards reaching a common ground to avoid unnecessary spending of money by the aspirants.
