Today’s Weather: Expect clouds and thundery activities plus rains in South East — NiMet

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Thursday 13 September, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy morning is expected across this region. In the afternoon, Kano, Dutse, Zaria, Yelwa and Maiduguri are expected to have isolated thundery activities. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 31– 37℃ and 20 – 25℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: This region is expected to be cloudy in the morning while there are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over places like Bauchi, Gombe, Jos, Nasarawa, Adamawa, and Yola, Mambilla plateau, Minna, and Abuja in the afternoon. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 – 33℃ and 19 – 24℃ respectively except Jos at 29/17℃.

SOUTH EAST REGION: Cloudy conditions are expected over this region, with exception of Ikom, Calabar Port Harcourt where there are prospects of isolated rains in the morning hours. However, there are prospects of isolated thunderstorms and localised rain showers over places like, Abakaliki, Owerri, Umuahia, Enugu, Awka, Asaba, Ikom, Calabar Port Harcourt and environs in the afternoon/evening hours.

SOUTH WEST REGION: Cloudy morning is expected over this region while isolated thunderstorms and showers are anticipated over the high grounds areas like Oshogbo, Akure, Ondo, Shaki and Abeokuta, in the afternoon/evening. In the morning hours, isolated rains are anticipated over Ikom, Port Harcourt and Calabar, the rest of the cities are expected to be cloudy. Later in the afternoon/evening hours, isolated showers are anticipated over Warri, Asaba, Port Harcourt, Calabar, Yenagoa, Eket and environs. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 28-32℃ and 21-23℃respectively.
