The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, on Wednesday morning invited leaders of all Market Associations in Aba, the commercial hub of the state, to a crucial meeting. The invitation came less than 24 hours after Ikpeazu imposed a three-day curfew on Aba in the wake of the reported clashes in Umuahia, the state capital, involving members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Nigerian soldiers.
Enyinnaya Appolos, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, named those invited to the meeting to be held from 10:00 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday) at Michael Okpara Auditorium, Government House Umuahia, to include Umuehilegbu Shoe Makers, Bakassi Shoe Makers, Ariaria Shoe Makers and leaders of all markets in Umuahia
“Also invited are stakeholders of Aba North, Aba South, Osisioma, Umuahia North and Umuahia South local government areas of the state,” Appolos said in a statement issued in Umuahia.
