NiMet predicts localised thunderstorms, rains for today

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Friday, August 25, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Localised thunderstorms are expected over Sokoto, Nguru and parts of Borno State in the morning. Later in the day, Sokoto axis is expected to be cloudy while Maiduguri, Nguru and environs are expected to experience thunderstorms. Day and night temperature values are anticipated to be in the ranges of 29 – 30℃ and 21 – 25℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Abuja, Bauchi, Mambila plateau, and Makurdi are to expect morning thunderstorms. Later in afternoon, localised thunderstorms are expected over the entire region. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 26 – 30℃ and 16 – 24℃ respectively.

SOUTHERN STATES: Localised rains are anticipated in the morning over the inland of the south west during the forecast period while the south east has prospects of isolated rain in the morning and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. The coast is expected to be cloudy during the forecast period with prospects of rains in the afternoon/evening period. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 27 – 30℃ and 21 – 24℃.
