The Emir of Zuru, retired Major-General Muhammadu Sani Sami, Gomo II, is the Amirul Hajj of the Kebbi State pilgrims delegation for this year’s Hajj exercise.
Governor Atiku Bagudu announced the constitution of the State Government Delegation on 2017 Hajj to Saudi Arabia, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi.
The statement quoted the Secretary to the State Government, Babale Umar Yauri, as saying “the Emir of Zuru retired Major-General, Dr. Muhammadu Sani Sami, Gomo II is the Amirul Hajj and leader of the delegation.”
Other members are retired Major-General Mohammed Danhanne Isah, Hon. Sodangi Ngaski, Isyaku Muhammad Nassarawa, Hon. Bello Bayawa and Ibrahim Hassan.
Also on the list are Hon. Bello Ka’oje, Hon. Muhammad Sala Fana and Bello Ibrahim Gwandu. The rest are Alhaji Dan Tila Jega, Dr. Hali Bala while Hon. Abubakar Imam Besse will serve as Secretary.
According to the statement, the delegation is to supervise the conduct of the 2017 Hajj Operation with a view to advising the state government on best way to organise future operations.
“The members are also to liaise with the Chairman, State Pilgrim Welfare Agency on all issues pertaining to Hajj operation as well as ensure compliance with all agreements mutually entered into among the Pilgrims Welfare Agency, National Hajj Commission and Airline operations,” the statement added.
