The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) on Monday accused the Chief Martin Agbaso-led faction of APGA of carting away with  N19 million and some sensitive documents from the party's save during the time they took over the national office of the party recently.

Oye, who made the declaration in Awka on Monday during a press conference, said that Agbaso does not exist in anything APGA adding that before the law, he is a meddlesome interloper.

He maintained that apart from being in control of APGA, he remained the sole signatory of the party’s account.

In his words, “My sit has never been in contention.  I call the shots in APGA and I remain the sole signatory to APGA account.  Agbaso’s judgements are expired. He does not exist in APGA because he resigned to contest election in PDP.”

Oye, while saying that he has never been embattled as the National Chairman of the party and remain the authentic Chairman of APGA said that everything is set for the party's primaries on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

The party’s primary is expected to take place at the Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Center, Awka, with 1,109 delegates in attendance.

Oye said yesterday that though several forms were made available for governorship aspirants, only Governor Willie Obiano completed and returned the forms.

He said 150 statutory delegates would participate at the primaries, including the incumbent governor, who is also the chairman of the Board of Trustees, BOT, of APGA, the deputy governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mrs. Rita Maduako, members of the national assembly from Anambra State elected on the platform of the party, state assembly members, local government chairmen and members of the National Executive Committee, NEC, of the party from Anambra State.

He said: “Though only one person had returned the forms, all the necessary procedure must be followed in the selection of the candidate of the party.”

According to Oye, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were already on ground for the exercise and expressed optimism that there would be hitch free primaries.

Meanwhile, Chief Agbaso has denied carting away the sum of N19m from the national office of APGA as alleged by Oye. He described the allegation as untrue, saying that there was no such money in the office.

Agbaso however urged the EFCC to arrest Oye and charge him to court for money laundering

In a statement made available to journalists in Awka Agbaso said the allegations of Oye were white lies saying: “What does Oye do for a living? He has no meaningful means of live-hood. APGA do not do money business. We do not pay cash for anything. Let him come to my house and he would know that I am a business man and would know that I have something doing

“There is no money in that office and he knows that. Why would somebody keep that kind of money in his office an amount that is up to N19 million? In fact, I urge the EFCC to arrest him and charge him for money laundry does he have N1 million of his own? What does he do for a living?

“Much as I would not want to waste my time and energy about it, but everybody knows that whatever payment that is made in APGA is not in cash so where is the N19 million.”
