NiMet forecasts clouds and thunderstorms, with chances of rains over the coastal cities

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Friday, July 21, 2017:

NORTHERN STATES: Partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected over the northwest with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Nguru, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna and its environ during the morning hours. Later in the day, isolated thunderstorms are likely over most cities. Day and Night temperature value are expected to be in the range of 30 – 32℃ and 21 – 24℃ respectively.

CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy conditions are likely over parts of the region with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Yola, Bauchi, Southern Jos, Abuja, Lafia, Makurdi, Ibi, Jalingo, Mambilla plateau and its environ during the morning hours. Isolated thunderstorms are expected over most parts of the region during the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 – 31℃ and 18 – 23℃ respectively except Jos at 24/17℃.

SOUTHERN STATES: Cloudiness is expected over parts of the region with chances of isolated thunderstorms over Akure and Enugu while rains are probable over Warri, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt, Eket and Calabar axis during the morning hours. However, there are prospects of isolated thunderstorms over most part of the inland cities with chances of rains over the coastal cities during the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 28 – 31℃ and 20 – 23℃ respectively.
