Two brothers from Rumuokparali community have been reportedly killed and beheaded by unknown persons in Rivers State.

Ifeanyi and Emeka Wobo were reportedly found dead on Tuesday with their heads severed around Elekahia Housing Estate in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.

The incident has thrown the people of Rumuopkarali into mourning mood with youths in the community calling on the police to fish out and prosecute the killers.

One of the youths, Omah, who said the remains of the dead have been deposited in the mortuary, confirmed that both victims were of the same father, but different mothers.

Omah told reporters that the two young men had taken a drop out of Rumuoparali on Monday, only for the police to discover their decapitated bodies on Tuesday morning.

“They are two sons of one Late Chief Oliver Wobo. The incident is tragic, there is serious crying and wailing in Rumuokparali now because it is a strange incident. Nobody knows what happened but their corpses were found around Elekahia Housing Estate.

“They left home on Monday evening while the police found Ifeanyi’s wallet which they used to trace the company where he acquired his pipeline welding skill. They obtained the phone number of his next of kin and called. Ifeanyi is a pipeline welder and his mother is still unconscious since the news broke on Tuesday evening,” he said.

Also confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, Mr Nnamdi Omoni said: “Yes, we are aware and efforts are on to unravel the circumstances that led to their death”. (Channels TV)
