Anambra State Governor-Elect, Chief Willie Obiano, will this Saturday, January 11, 2014, address a gathering of Anambra people in Houston, Texas, USA.

He “will be the special guest at the USAfrica interactive forum in collaboration with the Anambra communities,” said the event’s organiser Chido Nwangwu, publisher of USAfrica and associated titles. “The venue of the international event is the Hilton Hotel Towers at Westchase,” he added.

Nwangwu in an e-mail sent to News Express disclosed that “hundreds of Diasporans from different parts of the United States of America, Canada, Europe and Nigeria have confirmed their interest to participate in Chief Obiano’s presentation, join in the Question and Answer session to assess Obiano’s agenda and plan for Anambra when he steps in March 2014.”

A technocrat and accomplished banker, Obiano, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), won the Anambra State Governorship Election held on November 16, 17 and 30, 2013.

He polled 180,178 votes as against 97,700 votes by second-placed Comrade Tony Nwoye of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Senator Chris Ngige of the All Progressive Congress (APC) came third with 95,953 votes.
