BNYL set to launch Biafra referendum campaign

The Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL) has announced its commitment to begin a grassroots campaign as part of its programme in the quest for a referendum on the creation of a Sovereign State of Biafra.

According to a statement signed by the National Deputy Leader, Comrade Ebuta Ogar Takon, the BNYL will hold the grassroots referendum campaign in various communities within the Bight of Biafra.

“We are going launch referendum campaign first week of July in preparation for our general referendum. The Leadership of the BNYL will officially kick off the campaign proper in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State on 7th July, 2017 before our members and followers begin the grassroots movement proper,” the statement reads.

Comrade Takon pointed out that the purpose of the campaign is to raise consciousness among various ethnic nations and their different communities, so as to prepare their minds ahead of time.

He said: “The BNYL is appealing to our respective communities to cooperate with all our existing units.”
