The Member Representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martins Okechukwu Azubuike, has reiterated his commitment towards making human capital development and service to the people of his constituency the bedrock of his representation.

The lawmaker, who was a former Speaker  of  the 6th Abia Assembly and  former Deputy National Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures in Nigeria, restated the commitment during the commissioning of a six-room Ultra-Modern Convenience at Orie Ntigha Market and a community hall at Umuezenta Nbawsi, Isiala Ngwa North LGA built by him. He stressed that he embarked on the projects to better the lot of his constituents, adding that he had done a lot in terms of legislation, representation, oversight function, empowerment and projects.

Speaking further in a town hall meeting organised to mark his midterm at the 6th Abia Assembly, Rt. Hon. Azubuike chronicled his achievements in the Assembly so far. These, he said, include 17 sponsored bills 4 motions, 5 matters of urgent public importance, several reports, personal explanation and petitions.

Rt. Hon. Azubuike also mentioned projects and programmes to his credit. They include: The 130 Isiala Ngwa indigenes drawn from 125 polling units in his payroll, grading of at least three rural roads per ward, cutting across all the 10 wards in Isiala Ngwa North, football talents hunt competition, primary and secondary school quiz/debate, free medical treatment, bursary award to 100 undergraduates, procurement of electricity transformer, electricity projects, building of community market stall, attracting the reconstruction and rehabilitation of erosion sites, renovation of dilapidated schools, distribution of empowerment  items such as Vehicles, Keke NAPEP, Motorcycles, Sewing Machines, grinding  machines, Power generating sets, job placements, sponsoring of 150 youths for the South East Entrepreneurship Development Scheme in partnership with the CBN, providing the platform for the registration of 1,000 Isiala Ngwa North indigenes in the Federal Government N-Power Programme.

The hight point of the occasion was the induction of 1,027 new members of Martins Azubuike Leadership Foundation, of which the Honourable Member is the BOT Chairman.

Those who graced the event include the Member, Representing Isiala Ngwa North/South Federal Constituency, in the National Assembly Hon. Darlington Nwokocha, the Executive Chairman, Isiala Ngwa North/ South federal constituency, Hon Darlington Nwokocha, the executive chairman, Isiala Ngwa North L.G.A Hon. Ginger Onwusibe, the immediate past Commissioner for information and strategy in Abia State, Hon Bonnie Iwuoha, the DG Martins Azubuike Campaign Organization, Dr. G.C Iwuoha, Traditional rulers, Village heads, women and youth leaders, the clergy, pro-democracy groups.
