Thunderstorms, clouds to dominate today’s weather: NiMET

•Thunderstorm.

 The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Wednesday, June 13, 2017:

 NORTHERN STATES: In the early hours of the morning there are prospects of thunderstorms over this region with chances of recurrence over Damaturu, Potiskum, Gombe, Maiduguri in the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 39℃ and 23 – 27℃ respectively.

 CENTRAL STATES: Cloudy morning is expected over this region except over Bida, Minna and Ilorin where there are prospects of localised thunderstorms. However, there are prospects of localised thunderstorms over Abuja, Minna, Jos, Bauchi, Kaduna, Ilorin and Mambilla Plateau later in the day. Day and Night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 29 – 35℃ and 20 – 27℃ respectively, except over Jos where 28oC and 18oC day and night temperatures are expected.

 SOUTHERN STATES: The inland cities of this region will likely have localised thunderstorms throughout the day except over places like Enugu, Awka, Owerri and Umuahia where there are chances of cloudiness in the morning hours. Also, the coastal cities will experience light intermittent rains throughout the day. The Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 28 – 33℃ and 21 – 25℃.
