The Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) has warned those it described as backbiters and gossip peddlers in Biafraland to stay away from IPOB and its administrative method before it is too late for them.
The group accused the Mohammadu Buhari-led government of sponsoring some unscrupulous individuals and groups in Biafraland to gossip about IPOB Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, without evidence to back up their claims.
In a statement made available to journalists in Awka on Tuesday by the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB said it will not stoop so low to entertain or to reply certain persons who, according to them, are no match to IPOB.
The statement reads: “Everyone knows that IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu means business to restore Biafra, not responding to gossip and distraction from Intersociety and other faceless groups parading themselves as non-governmental organisations.
“The efforts by IPOB Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to unify our people from all clans and tribes in Biafraland, mostly the former old Eastern Region including their brothers and sisters located in Delta, Edo, Kogi and Benue states by the Hausa Fulani and their British collaborators with their divide and rule antics among the people of Biafra, remain intact no matter the persuasion from the enemies to stop the movement.
“Our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, is embarking on a move to consolidate the people of Biafra for the need to mobilise support for the coming referendum by the United Nations and other relevant world organisations in no distant future.
“In line with this, IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu promises never to respond to any distraction or gossip from any sponsored individual or group without concrete evidence and facts again.
“IPOB is a very big organisation that is treading as one of the best indigenous movements across the world today but cannot tolerate further distraction or gossip from any sponsored individual or group anymore.”
