Moving with the times . . . DANGOTE JOINS TWITTER

The President/Chief Executive of Dangote Group and philanthropist, Aliko Dangote, has joined a growing list of global CEOs on the most popular micro blogging platform ‘Twitter’ with his verified account, @AlikoDangote.

Dangote was recently ranked by Forbes as the most powerful and richest man in Africa. The business mogul who has become a household name in the manufacturing industry, particularly in cement production, used his inaugural tweet to welcome everyone into the New Year and encouraged his followers to keep the conversation going.

He tweeted: “Glad to be on Twitter. Wishing you all a prosperous New Year. Stay positively committed to achieving your dreams, nothing is impossible” January 1, 2014.

Africa’s richest black man has since followed the official twitter account of his organization, @DangoteGroup and some of his billionaire entrepreneurs, philanthropist and global thought leaders including Bill Gates, Jeff Immelt, Jack Welch, Gordon and Sarah Brown.
