Erudite lawyer, Chief Goddy Uwazurike, has condemned the ejection, on Thursday by the House of Representatives, of a Bill for the establishment of a South East Development Commission.

“This rejection of the bill to redevelop the South East is purely a petty action that borders on myopia,” the President Emeritus of Igbo think tank Aka Ikenga told News Express.

He noted that “the South East and South South area that was devastated by the civil war has never been rehabilitated,” adding: “I know that General Yakubu Gowon on paper created the 3 Rs . . . Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Reconciliation, but that was mere word and no action.”
