Communities in Awe Local Government Area have called for support for Dangote sugar factory which is located in the area in order to boost their economic base.
The Nasarawa State Commissioner of Agriculture, Muhammad Jameel Zakari, drummed the support during a meeting with stakeholders from the locality in Lafia, the state capital.
According to organisers, the meeting was basically to discuss two issues affecting the community, the need for people of the area to support Dangote sugar factory and the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Commissioner called on the people to support the government to achieve the realisation of the project.
“It is about the entire community mobilising support for the initiative. We need to take advantage of this opportunity of a lifetime, give the government the necessary support in order to ensure that the investment takes place in a friendly atmosphere.”
The meeting which is the first of its kind brought together representatives from 10 electoral wards of Awe LGA. (Channels TV)
