The Sole Administrator of Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah, has called on Service Providers to ensure that Port Harcourt City and its environs are kept clean especially as the state marks its historic Golden Jubilee.
Obuah in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam, urged the contractors to ensure that all receptacles in their respective areas of coverage are evacuated and adequately dispersed at the approved dumpsites.
The Sole Administrator said the call became necessary as the ongoing Jubilee Celebration of the state has reached advance stage, stressing that with the anticipated influx of visitors to the state, it is needful for Service Providers to up their ante for effective performance.
Obuah said the Agency remains determined to sustain the Garden City status of the state, noting that the cooperation of the Service Providers in this regard was very apt.
“I urge every Service Provider to key into this mood of the Golden Jubilee celebration and put in their very best to ensure that every nook and cranny of Port Harcourt and its environs are dirt free,” Obuah stated.
The RIWAMA boss further declared that the Agency would leave no stone unturned to achieve a clean and tidy Port Harcourt and its environs before, during and after the Jubilee celebration.
The Sole Administrator said he would commence an unscheduled inspection of the major roads, garbage receptacles and dumpsites to ascertain the level of compliance to his call by Service Providers.
