Kebbi loses traditional ruler

The Chief of Dabai Chiefdom in Zuru Emirate Council of Kebbi State, Isah Sami, is dead.

He is a relation of the Emir of Zuru, retired Maj. General Muhammadu Sani Sami II.

Emirate sources said he died at a hospital in India on Friday night after a protracted illness.

Late Sami is survived by one wife and three children.

Among early sympathisers were Deputy Senate Leader representing Kebbi South, Bala Ibn Na’Allah, Senator Muhammadu Magoro, the Executive Director Services, Kaduna Refining and Petrochemical Company (KRPC), Abdullahi Idris – on behalf of the management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) – Gen Muhammadu Danhanne Isah, former Jaji Commander, as well as retired Col. Mamman Manga.

They described late Sami as generous, humble, accommodating and a man who dedicated his life to ensuring peaceful coexistence amongst the people of the emirate.

They prayed to Allah to grant him Aljanna Firdausi and the family, Emir of Zuru, people of Zuru and the entire state, the fortitude to bear the loss.
