The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) supervising the North-East, Harrison Dagala, says one of the major challenges confronting the Nigeria Police Force is inadequate manpower.

Mr Dagala disclosed this to Channels Television during his official visit to the Adamawa State Police Command in Yola, the state capital.

“The modern police force is that police force that makes the best use of technology. You need technology in order to police, because the criminals have gone beyond their rudimental time, so you must try to match with them.”

The DIG, who is on an official tour of Police formations in Nigeria’s North-east, came with a message from the Inspector General of Police to brief personnel at the Command on what the management was doing to motivate them.

He also commended them for their efforts in the fight against the Boko Haram terrorists.
