•Ogun Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olumide Ayeni.
Ogun State Government has warned the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW); the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN); and the Parks and Garages Development Board of the state (PAGADEB) over their involvement in a tussle that is capable of leading to a breakdown of law and order.
Attorney General of the state and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Olumide Ayeni, in a statement issued on Thursday, emphasised that the state government is keen to maintain the current level of peace, order and good governance, which undoubtedly results in sustainable development and growth in the overall interests of the good people of Ogun State.
Accordingly, the Attorney General said, since all issues relating to matters in dispute are already subject of litigation in various courts, “notably at the Federal High Court of Nigeria, government enjoins all interests and parties to maintain the status quo in accordance with due process.”
This, he said, is necessary in order to allow all pending matters to be resolved according to the law, stressing that “government shall not hesitate in its resolve to wield the big stick where this directive is flouted.”
