Two female suicide bombers have died while attacking a mosque close to the Federal High Court Jiddari Polo, in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State.

The incident occurred at about 5:25 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

“Emergency response teams have evacuated the bodies of two female suicide bombers believed to have died in the incident,” Abdulkadir Ibrahim, NEMA Information Officer North East, said in a statement.

He said that “four other persons with injuries were administered with first aid and transported to the hospitals” following an explosion around the mosque believed to have been triggered off by the suicide bombers.
