Perm Sec charges youths to take advantage of entrepreneurial skill programmes

The Permanent Secretary, Delta State Directorate of Government House and Protocol, Mr. Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje, has urged Nigerian youths to take advantage of the various entrepreneurial and skill acquisition programmes of government to improve themselves and become employers of labour.

Speaking during a send-forth party in honour of the outgoing 2016 Batch A Corps members who served in the Directorate, Mr. Ogidi-Gbegbaje emphasised that the era of white collar jobs was over and youths should utilise their entrepreneurial skills to become gainfully employed and employers of labour.

The Permanent Secretary advised the youths to adapt to all situations, be positive and focused so as to move high in life, stressing: “The youth must remain very positive in all circumstances, they should not allow depression to set in, in all they do as life is not all rosy and the ability to adapt and cope with both difficult and rosy situations make you a better person.”

He charged them to shun criminal tendencies and get rich quick syndromes stating that a little mistake in life can derail their life goals.

“Please resist the temptation of joining bad gangs and partaking in criminal activities be careful about what you do in life as a little mistake will truncate your goals in life.”

In a brief response, Mr. Caleb Inalegwu and Miss Mandus Udo, who spoke on behalf of other corps members, thanked the management of the Directorate for the knowledge impacted on them while serving in the state and promised that they would work with the advice given them and be responsible citizens of the state/ country.
