Following a newspaper publication alleging that the immediate past Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Sir Jude Ejiogu, will soon dump the All Progressives Congress (APC), his Media Aide, Mr. Ikenna Onuoha, has faulted the story, describing it as false, and a figment of the imagination of the peddlers. He assured that his boss remains a strong member and supporter of the ruling party.
Mr. Onuoha disclosed this to newsmen in Owerri while reacting to a news paper publication in one of the local tabloids, he maintained that the story was very difficult to believe even to a gullible person owing to the fact that the former SSG is one of the founding fathers of the APC in Imo State who recently paid the rent for the Owerri North APC office along Egbu road Owerri, as well as contributed in no small measure for the growth of the party.
According to Onuoha, the former SSG participated in the last APC revalidation exercise where he authenticated his membership of the party, and therefore appealed to the general public to ignore the story, while describing sponsors of the publication as dissidents and idle minded individuals who have nothing serious to do for themselves but to discredit and blackmail people.
The Media Aide therefore queried that if Sir Ejiogu could risk his life during the 2015 Election to ensure that APC emerged victorious especially, in Owerri Federal Constituency in particular and the state at large when peddlers of this rumor absconded with funds meant for the party members, and wondered how a sane person could believe their trash that the former SGI will soon leave a party he labored and toiled to bring to limelight.
On the alleged media war against government by Sir Ejiogu, Onuoha therefore challenged the writers to back-up their claims by providing some of the published stories purportedly sponsored by the former SSG, describing the media attacks on Sir Ejiogu as a result of personal hatred by his detractors who see his rising profile as a threat.
He therefore concluded that the cabals who are speculating Sir Ejiogu’s possible exit from APC are either suffering from political hallucination or inferiority complex, saying that their prediction that he would go into oblivion having left the government which did not work was the reason to nail him through blackmail.
He averred that the same cabals decided to blackmail innocent people with a view to covering up the nocturnal meetings they have held against the government they are sole beneficiaries, with the mandate to wrestle power from the Governor if the pendulum goes against them.
