Ex-Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Bamaiyi, loses mother

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General Ishaya Bamaiyi, has lost his mother, Madam Arziki Bamaiyi Sunduh.
Family sources said she died at home in Ribah, Danko/Wasagu Local Government of Kebbi State, on Monday night at the age of 118.

Late Sunduh is also survived by her other children Joshua, Bitrus, Anthony, Bitrus, Saratu, Husse and Timothy; many grand children and great grandchildren.

She was also the mother of late Major-General Musa Bamaiyi, one-time Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and late Senator Danladi Bamaiyi.

Bala Ibn Na’Allah, Deputy Senate Leader representing Kebbi South Senatorial, and Emir of Zuru, retired Major General Muhammad Sani Sami II, were among the first to condole the family.

Ms. Sunduh died ahead of the public presentation of Mr. Bamaiyi’s book titled “Vindication of a General” scheduled to hold in Abuja on Thursday.
