Today’s weather: NiMET predicts localised thunderstorms in the South, sun and clouds up North

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has made the following predictions about the country’s weather condition for today, Tuesday, March 7, 2017:

NORTHERN REGION This region is expected to be under sunny conditions in the next 24 hours.

CENTRAL REGION: Partly cloudy conditions are anticipated over this region within the next 24hours. Day and night temperature values are expected to be in the range of 32 – 38°C and 16 – 28°C respectively.

SOUTH-EAST REGION: Cloudy morning is expected over the region with prospects of localised thunderstorms over some places such as Owerri and Awka during the afternoon/evening hours. Day and night time temperatures are expected to be in the ranges of 34 – 39°C and 24 – 26°C respectively.

SOUTH WEST REGION: Cloudy morning will prevail over the entire areas with chances of localised thunderstorms over the high ground areas such as Akure, Oshogbo, Ado Ekiti, Shaki and coastal cities like Lagos and Ijebu Ode during the afternoon/evening of the forecast hours.

SOUTH-SOUTH REGION: Cloudy morning is expected over the inland and the coastal cities with prospects of localised thunderstorms over some places such as Port Harcourt, Yenagoa, Eket, Calabar, Obudu and Ikom during the afternoon/evening hours.
