The Senator representing Anambra south senatorial zone at the National Assembly, Andy Uba, has described the rush for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State as a thing of life and death saying that whoever emerges as the party’s flag bearer would not disappoint members of the party and the state in general.

He made the declaration yesterday at the handover of the party’s constitution and broom to him by the party’s state Chairman, Emeka Ibe, in readiness for the November 18 governorship election in the state.

Uba observed that the state secretariat of the party was not befitting of a national party like APC, adding that the office would be upgraded to make it look like the office of a reigning party in Nigeria.

He said: “What I have seen now in this party, shows that there is unity among the state executive and members of the party in the state.

“But one thing I want to assure members of the party now is that whoever God says will emerge as the candidate of APC will never disappoint the party, during and after the governorship election in November.”

The Senator who ruled Anambra for 17 days as a Governor in 2007, recently joined APC from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

While handing over the part’s constitution and symbolic broom to the Senator, the Chairman of the party said the broom was being handed over to him by the party to make sure that the current administration of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was swept away.

He charged the APC governorship hopeful to be good ambassador of the party in the state, alleging that the current APGA government had misruled Anambra State.
