Osun State Police Command on Tuesday arraigned two teenagers, Kolapo Ayuba, 18 and Sikiru Fatai, 19 before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for attempting to steal from one Engineer Babatunde Adeyemo.

The police prosecutor in the case, Sergeant Dopamu Busari, told the court that the two accused persons on the February 18 unlawfully jumped into the compound of Adeyemo with intent to commit felony therein.

He added that the offence committed by the accused persons is contrary to and punishable under section 509 and section 516 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Volume II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2003.

When the case was read to the accused, they both pleaded not guilty of the allegation levelled against them.

Counsel to the accused persons, Mrs. Adeyinka Dada, also prayed the court to grant the accused persons bail in the most liberal terms.

Though the police prosecutor objected to this bail plea, saying investigation has not been concluded on the case, the magistrate, Mr. Olusola Aluko, granted the accused persons the bail of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum each.

He explained that the police should have completed investigation before arraigning the accused persons. He then adjourned the case till April 7, 2017.
