Court remands bricklayer for killing uncle

An Osogbo magistrate court in Osun State on Friday ordered that a 22-year-old bricklayer, Ismaila Fatai, be remanded in Ilesha prison custody for allegedly killing his Uncle, Mr Zakariyau Safiriyu.

The police prosecutor, Olu Abodunrin, told the court that Fatai killed the deceased by hitting him on the head with a stick on February 3, 2017 at Fasina compound in Ede.

He added that the offence committed by Fatai is contrary to and punishable under Section 319 (1) of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.

The accused had no legal representative and his plea was not taken.

Chief magistrate Olusola Aluko ordered that the accused be remanded at Ilesha prison custody and then adjourned the case till April 27, 2017.
