For the third time in less than a month, aggrieved Nigerians have taken to the streets to protest against the hardship they are facing under the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

This morning, members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) gathered at the Unity Fountain in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), “to commence the march against what they call the effect of poor governance,” a report by Channels TV said.

“As days goes by, they are expected to march on the streets of Abuja,” the report said.

It said that in the country’s economic capital, Lagos, NLC members converged at the union’s Secretariat in Yaba “to commence their protest against what they call hardship being faced by Nigerians in the country.”

“The members of the NLC will be marching through the streets of Lagos to make their demands known to the government,” Channels said.

The protest by NLC is coming barely three days after the #IStandforNigeria rallies held in Lagos and Abuja on Monday to protest the increasing hardship in the country.

Earlier, frontline rights group the United Action for Democracy (UAD) had on January 16 organised the first major rally against the Muhammadu Buhari administration, marching from NLC Secretariat, Yaba, to the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park in Ojota, Lagos.
